Hunting has been around for centuries and ozone has been around even before that. The thought of adding the two together? That started happening within the last few years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So why would hunters need to use ozone machines? Deer have an incredible sense of smell! A mature buck relies on odors to sense the presence of an available doe or, and most importantly, alert him to the threat of danger. So where does ozone come in to play? Ozone machines work by changing the oxygen around you into scent killing ozone. With the right concentration, and the right amount of time your scent will always be destroyed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process is pretty simple but very important. A small amount of ozone will do the job , so don’t over ozonated your gear. Ozone will breakdown plastics and rubber when exposed to high concentrations for a long period of time. We recommend hunters placing their gear in a closet, shutting the door and allowing a low concertation of ozone to run for 30 minutes. You might notice when the application is done that your clothes smell like ozone. While you might think the smell might give you away, we promise it won’t. Ozone is found naturally in our environment, specifically lightning. The smell after a thunderstorm? That is ozone! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since ozone is a naturally occurring smell and it does the best job at masking scent, many hunters incorporate ozone into their blinds and stands. For stands we have seen hunters use ozone to mask their scent on breezy days. The wind carries our scent for miles, alerting every scent smelling creature on the way. By placing the ozone machines at an angle, the machine will work by not only destroying your scent near your stand but also your scent carried in the breeze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
