At the event, about 350 high school students connected with a variety of local businesses and explored potential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/about-us\/job-openings.html\">career paths.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:0px\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Flow <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the booths had been set up early Friday morning, the three schools in Lyon County began to trickle in. After a brief welcome and directions, students were sent on their way within their groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where We Fit In<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three categories we chose to represent alongside our career paths included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/products.html\">Building and Moving<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/applications.html\">Creating and Experiencing<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/applications\/water-treatment.html\">Cultivating Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These three categories align with what we do at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/\">Oxidation Technologies.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:0px\">Our Display and Demo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students were encouraged to ask questions &#8211; and they delivered! We heard thoughtful and curious inquiries like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-basics\/faq.html\">\u201cWhat do you do?\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-basics\/faq.html\">\u201cHow does ozone work?\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-basics\/faq.html\">\u201cWhere does ozone come from?\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are just a few of the questions eager students brought to our booth throughout the event. Many students were fascinated by what they described as the <strong>\u201cmagic\u201d of ozone. <\/strong>We often removed the probe from the solution so students could safely smell ozone\u2019s distinct odor, commonly described as the<strong> fresh scent after a thunderstorm. <\/strong>This helped students connect ozone to its natural source, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-generation\/ozone-production.html#answer4\">lightning<\/a><\/strong>, as ozone is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-generation\/ozone-production.html\">naturally created <\/a>during lightning storms, which is why we often notice that smell after severe weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized wp-duotone-unset-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/ozone\/ozone-generation\/ozone-production.html#answer4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6464\" style=\"object-fit:cover;width:15000px;height:100px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Takeaway<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were able to help guide students toward potential future career paths while also sharing the educational requirements for several of our positions. It was especially interesting to see how many students were drawn to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxidationtech.com\/products.html\">in-house builds and fabrication work<\/a> that takes place right here in Inwood, Iowa.
