What is Ozone?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ozone (O\u2083)<\/a> is a special form of oxygen made up of three oxygen atoms instead of the two atoms found in the oxygen we breathe (O\u2082).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because ozone contains an extra oxygen atom, it is highly reactive and unstable. This extra oxygen atom can quickly break away and react with contaminants, making ozone a powerful oxidizer used to eliminate odors, bacteria, hydrogen sulfide (H\u2082S), and other unwanted compounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike oxygen, ozone naturally breaks down over time and returns to regular oxygen, leaving no chemical residue behind.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many people recognize ozone by its distinct fresh smell,<\/strong> often noticed after a thunderstorm or near equipment that generates ozone. While colorless at typical treatment levels, ozone appears light blue at very high concentrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The combination of strong oxidation power and natural decomposition makes ozone an effective solution for water treatment, odor control, and disinfection applications.<\/p>\n\n\n
