Software Setup
The included USB drive supports Windows XP, Windows 7, and Apple OS X. Follow these steps to install the necessary drivers:
1. Install USB-to-Serial Adapter Drivers
- Open the USB drive and navigate to the folder “USB-to-Serial Adapter Drivers”
Windows:
- Open “Windows Drivers”
- Double click PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.7.0
- Follow on-screen instructions
Apple:
- Open “Apple Drivers”
- Double click PL2303_1.4.0
- Follow on-screen instructions
Once the drivers are installed, your computer will be ready to communicate with the EcoSensors instrument.
Hardware Setup (Example for OS-6 Instrument)
- Disconnect power from the instrument.
- Connect the Serial Data Cable to the instrument:
- Black wire (GND) → instrument connector labeled GND
- Red wire (DATA) → instrument connector labeled DATA
- Connect the Serial Data Cable to the USB-to-Serial Adapter.
- Connect the USB-to-Serial Adapter to your computer.
- Reconnect power to the instrument.
