A Cup of Joe with John, The Series Continues

Question from our customer: I’m interested in learning more about your technologies to better understand them and be able to identify if there could be good opportunities to work together for projects as our company has several technologies in water processing and this combination could be beneficial probably.

John: I would be happy to discuss using ozone products for water treatment.  Not only do we provide water injection systems that safely and effectively dissolve ozone in water for water treatment, we are willing to provide components to help customers like you custom build their own systems.   We make careful use of the principles of ozone solubility https://www.oxidationtech.com/ozone/solubility.html when selecting a particular ozone generator and designing an injection skid.  Unlike many of the chemical treatment options, ozone can’t be stored in a tank as it quickly degrades back to oxygen.  In water, the reactions are often quick.

Generating ozone long term efficiently and safely begins with clean dry air or a good oxygen concentrator.   We sell oxygen concentrators as well as incorporate them into our ozone generation systems and water injection skids. https://www.oxidationtech.com/products/oxygen-generator.html The oxygen concentrators rely on pressure swing adsorption of nitrogen into a zeolite bed to separate out the oxygen.  Oxygen at 93-95% purity is fed to the ozone generator.  The ozone generators we use all rely on dielectric barrier discharge in which the oxygen gas is fed through a thin space between the dielectric barrier and a high voltage, high frequency electric field which knocks the oxygen molecules apart and providing a high energy re-combination of these atoms into O3 ozone molecules.  The ozone concentration leaving the generators ranges from 1-14% wt depending on the type of generator, power level applied, and the flow rate of oxygen. https://www.oxidationtech.com/products/ozone-generators.html

The K series ozone generators can also operate with dry air as a feed gas. https://www.oxidationtech.com/products/ozone-generators/k-series.html The advantage is a simpler system, but ozone production is also less and of much lower concentration.

We do not build our own ozone plasma cells or the electronics to drive them, but we source them from a few different American suppliers who have developed solid products.  Which one we use depends on the application and quantity of ozone needed.  For larger systems we may also mix and match components to best fit an application.  We also sell a wide variety of ozone measuring equipment and safety products.  We also offer preventative maintenance for customers and spend a great deal of time and energy traveling to service not only our equipment but any ozone equipment in need of work.

I hope this is sufficient to provide some insight into how we could be of service.  I would be happy to pursue further discussion in with any questions that come up.

We strive to provide as much information as possible on our website under ozone information.  Whenever we come across new information or need to answer the same questions, we publish our response and information in our blog.  Simply typing in your question in Google and referencing Oxidation Technologies may be helpful in getting to earlier blog posts.
