Hydrogen Bromide MSDS

What is Hydrogen Bromide:

Hydrogen Bromide is a colorless gas with a pungent irritating odor. It is corrosive and if heated or exposed to fire under pressure can cause it to explode. Hydrogen Bromide is heavier than air. Hydrogen Bromide is most often used in chemical laboratories to make other chemicals.

Hydrogen Bromide Exposure and Health Risks:

Hydrogen Bromide is toxic if inhaled or swallowed. Inhalation will irritate the eyes and respiratory system. Ingestion will burn the mouth, throat, and stomach. Long term exposure to low concentrations or short term exposure to high concentrations can result in serious health risks. If contacted directly it can cause skin burns and eye damage.

Measuring Hydrogen Bromide:

Hydrogen Bromide concentration in the air can be measured in units of parts per million (ppm). Many of our products have digital communication capabilities for easy monitoring and control. We carry portable and fixed hydrogen bromide monitors and kits. All of our hydrogen bromide products can be viewed HERE.
