Ozone Reactors, Floating Islands: How GNIDA Will Restore 5 Ponds

Noida, November 21, 2023: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has taken an innovative step towards rejuvenating five ponds in the region. The Authority plans to install ozone reactors, solar fountains, floating islands, and in-situ water treatment facilities to clean and restore the ponds. This initiative marks the first time GNIDA will utilize ozone reactors for pond restoration, and its success could pave the way for similar projects in other areas.

Addressing Pond Contamination with Ozone Reactors

The ponds located in Saini, Khanpur, Dadha, Kyampur, and Bironda villages have been facing contamination issues caused by various pollutants, including bacteria, viruses, and metals. Traditional cleaning methods have been ineffective in removing these contaminants, leading to the deterioration of the ponds’ health.

The introduction of ozone reactors is expected to address this challenge effectively.
