Repairing a DG-1 Ozone Generator

The most common reasons for failure of these generators is a lack of attention to maintenance.   With proper care and attention to matters such as leaking ozone, moisture in the feed gas, water backing up into the generator, or a fan that is not turning, these generators will provide many years of trouble free service.  Simple observation of a fan not working, discoloration of ozone tubing, or a smell of ozone can prevent costly repairs. In this video, a neglected ozone leak or a faulty cooling fan is likely the root problem.

If maintenance was neglected and the generator does fail, these generators can be repaired.   An ozone leak can accelerate corrosion on wiring connections or shorten the lifespan of the cooling fan.  If the cooling fan fails, the excessive heat buildup along with leaking ozone and humidity will eventually cause a failure that stops the production of ozone.

The serial number is very important to note when looking for the right parts to repair a generator. Have this number available when contacting Oxidation Technologies for par
