The secret of ozone dosing is having a measured flow of oxygen through a calibrated ozone generator. The Pro-5 oxygen concentrator is a very cost effective and simple way to deliver a measured flow of oxygen. Simply plug the unit in. Turn it on, and set the dial for the desired flow of oxygen. The Pro-5 will deliver pre-set oxygen flows of 0.125 liters per minute at its lowest flow setting. This oxygen flow rate through the HTU-500 ozone generator will generate ozone at a concentration of 50 grams/m3 (50 gamma or 3.5% Wt). Eight minutes of flow will fill a 1 Liter bag with 50 gamma ozone. The second flow setting of the Pro-5 is 0.25 liters per minute which will provide an ozone concentration of nearly 40 grams/m3.
The HTU-500 is a double quartz calibrated ozone generator. We calibrated it by carefully measuring the ozone concentration at different oxygen flow rates and each of the 10 power settings on the ozone generator. These measurements shown below have been published on our website at https://www.oxidationtech.com/htu500.html. The combination of the Pro-5 oxygen concentrator and HTU-500 ozone generator can be used for a wide range of ozone applications from fumigating a room using a high flow rate of 5 LPM, to making ozonated olive oil or filling an insuflation bag at 0.125 LPM.
If ozone concentrations greater than 50 gamma are needed, or you need the desired concentration at a higher flow rate, the VMUS-DG1 may be a better calibrated ozone generator choice.
