Description / Oil-less Compressor Pressure Rebuild Kit

A leaking or tripped air pressure relief valve on the Pro or Max series oxygen concentrators most often indicates that a sieve bed is contaminated with moisture and the compressor can no longer push air through it effectively. It is also possible that the pressure relief valve itself is defective.  The "Black Plastic Pressure Relief Valve Kit" includes a new pressure relief valve and a tool to replace the internal valve components. To repair the valve, insert the tool into the valve and turn clockwise ¼ turn. This will release the spring lock cover. This plastic cover, spring, and stem with seal can then be removed. These components can then be replaced with the components in your new pressure relief valve.

The entire pressure relief valve housing can also be replaced by first removing the compressor head. A snap ring can then be removed so that the valve can be replaced.

Most often, a tripped pressure relief valve indicates that a sieve bed is contaminated and needs to be replaced. If you replace the valve, and it continues to trip, it is likely the sieve bed is the problem. This can happen if one of the valves is stuck and the bed is unable to vent water vapor, or if the air is too humid for the concentrator. If a valve gets stuck and you continue to operate the machine, it will eventually contaminate the whole sieve bed with moisture. Best practice is to operate your concentrator in a climate controlled space.
