First stop -Iowa Dairy
The well water here had too much iron, so we installed an OXS-100 ozone system to oxidize iron so it can be filtered out. Frakco installed the filters and worked with us to make this system worked well. They called asking if we could make sure the ozone system had not in any way been compromised during a well failure.
Stop Two – Iowa Laundry Facility
A man from Norchem had stopped by our booth at WEFTEC and wanted to know how to integrate ozone into their laundry cleaning and filtration process. They struggle with biofilm and high BOD and COD in the water. All the dirty laundry from machine shops etc. around Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin are trucked to this facility where huge laundry bags are lifted with cranes into massive wash machines. The wash water is then cleaned up and re-used. I brought along our demo MOB 30 and we used it to show how the ozone increased the ORP in the water to address the biofilm and BOD issues.

Stop Three – Wisconsin Produce
Next stop was Little Potato. They use ozone to clean the bags of little potatoes you can buy in the grocery store. They have a 30 gram/hour ozone injection skid built by a company that no longer exists, but we have been keeping it up and running for the last 5 years. The oxygen concentrator had unexpectantly failed, and we had just what they needed to get them back up. The new sieve beds for the Topaz did not fix the problem, so to get them back up quickly, we replaced it with our 220V Max 10. We will fix their Topaz to keep as a spare. There were some other issues that needed to be addressed and some parts are on the way for them to fix it.

Stop Four – Wisconsin Produce
Alsum Produce – Our company had built them a couple of injection skids a long time ago, and when one stopped making ozone to clean big potatoes, they found us back again and asked us to come fix it. We were able to evaluate it and get them an estimate for maintenance. The other machine is still working good and washing potatoes.

Stop Five – Wisconsin
T3 Plastics in Beaver Dam contacted us about ozone equipment for making plastic “sticky.” They were apprehensive at first and wanted us to come there and show that it really worked. We used ozone from the MOB 30 system to treat three of their cold plunge tanks and a larger roto molded service counter they make. They had been making buoys for which foam sticking wasn’t so important. I found out that the real issue seemed to be some people conflict of ideas there, and some other company had come to demonstrate their equipment. So that is what we needed to do as well. The most important thing we were able to demonstrate was the need to have the right ventilation to do this safely.
